My research interests are in the study of language production and comprehension in the context of normal cognitive ageing. My recent research has focused on spelling production, semantic error detection, and error monitoring in younger and older adults.

I received my B.A. in Psychology from Pomona College and my Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to my joining the CSLB I was conducting independent research as a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Oxford.

I joined the CSLB in April, 2004 as part of an ongoing research project investigating the neural underpinnings of changes to language abilities across the lifespan. The aim of the project is to correlate changes in brain structure (i.e., area-specific atrophy) with the changes in specific language abilities that occur with advancing age.
